Play! Imagine! Create!
Welcome, Little Artists, to nico !
nico is a creative playground where kids dive into the magic of process art.
Here, it’s all about exploring, experimenting, and expressing in your own way.
We care less about “perfect pictures” or “finished products” and more about those joyful moments of meeting new materials, moving your hands, and discovering what’s possible. Every choice your child makes builds confidence, independence, and a love for their own imagination.
Our space is filled with play, curiosity, and creativity—come join the fun!

Come play, come explore! Whatever fits your family best!
At nico, we’ve got two ways to join the fun:
Art Classes — a regular creative time where kids can dive deeper at their own pace.
Open Studio — a relaxed drop-in playtime where you and your little one can explore together.

What is “Process art”?
Welcome to nico—so glad you found us! Have you heard of “process art” before? In many schools in Japan, art tends to focus on following instructions and making something that looks just like a sample—what’s often called “product art.” And while learning to follow steps and finish things neatly is valuable, process art is a little different. It’s all about the experience of creating, not the final result. Kids get to choose their own materials, try things out, make mistakes, and enjoy happy accidents as they find their own unique way to express themselves.
What does open-ended art nurture?
There’s no pressure to get it “right” or be judged. Instead, kids get to ask, “How can I make this even more fun?” Along the way, they build creativity, concentration, and problem-solving skills. Exploring different textures also supports sensory development and fine motor skills.
Confidence and connection grow, too.
Creating with others naturally helps kids build social skills. Simple moments like “That color is so cool—what is it?” or “Can I try that too?” become chances to connect and build empathy. And every time they make their own choices, they grow more confident and learn to trust themselves. The spark in their eyes, the excitement of discovery, the giggles while creating—that’s the magic of process art.
Bringing the magic of art into everyday life
At nico, we believe process art isn’t just about crafts—it’s a chance for kids to truly be themselves. We’d love to share that creative joy with you, and we hope you’ll sprinkle a little bit of that magic into your daily life. Try making something together at home—you might be surprised at just how good it feels.
